O Livro "The Secrets of Egypt" continua a voar (mais alto)*




Mimo enviado pela leitora Lala Jalili - aqui podem ver o seu gato a acariciar o livro
"The Secrets of Egypt - Dance, Life & Beyond". Mais doce que isto é difícil.

Eis que recebi mais uma agradável surpresa: além dos emails e mensagens privados que continuo a receber de leitores/as do meu livro (pessoas que se sentem inspirados pelo que leram e que fazem questão de mo dizer), uma bailarina/professora americana chamada Sahra C Kent escreveu um "post" inteiro no seu blogue dedicado ao meu livro. Ela frisa que não se trata de uma crítica literária mas de um texto que explica como ela se sentiu inspirada pelo meu primeiro bebé. Fair enough...:)

É com imenso gosto e gratidão que partilho o que a Sahra C Kent tão elegantemente escreveu a partir do livro que anda a agitar as águas (por vezes paradas ou até pantanosas) do universo mundial da Dança Oriental:

"During my last train ride through the Tyrollean Alps I read a book that was written in a immediate, personal, somewhat experiential way. Her way of writing was a hook, but then I got into the content. It felt like finally someone understood... my culture-contact while dancing in Egypt. She went to Cairo to perform at a different time than I did, a much more difficult time. I was transfixed with her story, but when I would put the book down I was flooded with my own, often parallel, memories. Although sick with the flu and a fever since Monday night, I kept writing, her book challenging me to tell the truth.
